A stop on The Moonshine Trail!

One of the first museums dedicated to the history and
original methods of making moonshine.

Moonshiners are interesting and facinating people. Making moonshine was hard work. Our ancestors used whatever resources they had to make shine as a way to survive and put food on the table for their families. We’ve advanced so much over the years with new ways of doing things. Preserving the “old ways” of making moonshine is very important to Donnie Benton, and preserving that history is the motivation behind the museum. When browsing through the museum you’ll get to see a timeline showing significant dates in our history related to moonshine, different styles of old fashioned stills, moonshine related artifacts and folk art made by local artists. Take some time to chat with Donnie and Teresa and learn about their time filming and being a part of the cast of Discovery Channel Moonshiners Show.
Plenty of parking at the museum!
